SURPRISE! I’ve signed a contract for a RecipeTin cookbook! But this won’t be just another cookbook……This is going to be a cookbook filled with new recipes YOU ask for.

Let’s make this cookbook OURS!

RecipeTin Eats Cookbook Announcement

PS That’s just a mock cover!!

Finally – a cookbook!

This is real – a RecipeTin cookbook is happening! I’m committed – I can’t back out, I’ve signed a publishing contract with Pan Macmillan, a big name publishing house here in Australia.

Excited, nervous, daunted, scared…. all these words come to mind as I sit here, preparing myself for what will be the the most important and biggest project I have ever undertaken in my professional life.

Which brings me to the main purpose of sharing this news….

I want to make this cookbook WITH you, FOR you!

Let’s fill these pages with recipes YOU want! Mostly new, but even some favourites from the website!

RecipeTin Eats Cookbook Announcement

I’m going to be completely honest with you. I am under no illusion about how much work it will take to make a cookbook.

So for me to make this cookbook for myself, because, well, you know, it is kind of an ego boost to see your name on a printed book. That’s not enough motivation for me. I don’t deserve it! 😂

If, on the other hand, I make it for you…….. now THAT is what I call motivation. That gets me excited. That is what will give me the incentive to give this cookbook everything I’ve got, to make it the best it can be.

I want to make a cookbook that you will actually use all the time, rather than gathering dust on the bookshelf.

So tell me what you want in our cookbook! What type of recipes, even little details like adding nutrition information, storage and make ahead tips, or key dietary notes (like gluten free).

They will mostly be new recipes that are exclusively made for the cookbook though I will also include some long standing reader favourites from the website!

Let’s make this cookbook together. Leave your cookbook wish list in the comments section below!!

– Nagi x

PS Reminder – this cover is a fake!! 😂 You know full well I am going to ask for your opinion when choosing the real cover. ❤️

Life of Dozer

I know today’s big announcement is all about me, me, me. But that’s no excuse to skip a Dozer update! Here he is, disrespecting my cookbook already. Or possibly just thinks the photo is real food. It could be either. 🙄

Though he has already expressed he is willing and able to help in any way possible with the cookbook. Thanks Dozer! We all know what your “help” involves….

You need a seafiod section! Some of my faves – Asian salmon salad, sesame crusted salmon, poached salmon in coconut lime sauce, Vietnamese garlic prawn noodle salad. And a fried rice section!

You absolutely must include your Lemon Cake. I make it all the time. It’s quick easy and most importantly everyone loves it.

Would LOVE to see dinner party meals from different cuisines. Like Greek entree, main and desert and Italian entree, main and desert.

Thai chicken curry (Vegan) would be awesome, if you could include this in your cookbook.
And caramel custard – Nagi’s way – as dessert !

Oh, such happy news! I would love a selection of one pot meals for busy nights when you want to set & forget but still eat a bowl/plate of deliciousness. A few meals from different cultures would be great too. Your regular dishes at our place include the one pot lemony chicken & rice, moussaka, carbonara, smashed cucumber salad & crustless quiche. Plenty of others make the table too. Can’t wait to have a real ‘in your hands’ cookbook. My girl Lucy sends Dozer sloppy dog kisses. 🙂

    Congrats Nagi
I have cooked so many of your recipes over this lockdown period.
Felafels, laksas, muffins and cakes. All delicious and easy to follow with your very detailed instructions. Recipes for special occasions, recipes that don’t use little bits of exotic ingredients. Can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Congratulations on the book. I would like to suggest your baking powder pizza dough, chocolat muffins and sausage rolls as some of the old recipes to use in the cookbook. You just perfected the basic recipes. I would like to suggest a companion book with blank line pages called “My favourite Nagi recipes” where readers are able to write their favourite recipes on the blank pages.

I think you should put in that meatloaf recipe.

    Hi Nagi,
I just love the extra detail you go into with your recipes such as substitutes, why you use certain ingredients and we do find the portion adjuster very, very handy, depending on how many we are cooking for.
Also find handy is the prep & cooking times but the prep time for amateur cooks like me is quite different to what you often list! So could be a bit more generous / realistic with some of the prep times when quite a few ingredients are involved thanks.
A big hit in our house is your Oven Pork Ribs with BBQ sauce!
Just beautiful fall off the bone…. looking forward to trying many more of your recipes. Keep well and love your work. Thanks

I did your chicken satay sticks last night and they were just as good as the old The Malay at Nth Sydney. Thank you for your recipes. They are always my go to. X

I’m a new convert to your recipes! Love them! I live in France where there are few good Asian restaurants outside of Paris and maybe a few other big cities. I’m a foodie and a dog lover. Put me down for a copy….I think Dozer should be on the inside flap or at least somewhere prominent!

Nagi I enjoy receiving your recipes. They contain tips, at a glance it shows what ingredients used and is simple to follow. They are not daunting or overwhelming. I am sure your coobook will be just that. Congrats. Looking forward it.

What I would like to see included is streetfood & juices from Malaysia & Singapore. Basic recipes for white sauce, vanilla tea cake, starters, main and desert i.e. food that can be enjoyed but prepared and ready in a flash! 🙂

    Love to you & Dozer

Grand news and a wonderful way to approach the project. Love all your recipes…never fail! Please, may I ask for a proper bound book spine? I see none of the books in your iconic pile are spiral/coil bound. For good reason: the pages tend to tear at top and bottom and…they just say “amateur” and “discount bin” to me.

I want a stellar tome which will be right up there with the select cookbooks you chose for the photo!

    All the best!

Nagi, I LOVE all your recipes. I cook probably 7-8 of your recipes every week. All are delicious. Some of my favourites are Butter Chicken, no yeast flatbread, pulled pork, mac & cheese, chicken piccata, meatballs, cottage pie, crustless quiche, soups, vanilla cupcakes……gosh so many. Would love all of them, but for new recipes anything would be great, but would love a good friand recipe. I would also love some more slow cooker meals that I could start at the beginning of the day and have ready for dinner. 🙂 Thank you so much for all your work. My husband and I seriously love your food and eat it every night for dinner. 🙂

Any of your recipes will be awesome Nagi – we’re yet to find one that isn’t successful. (Croque Monsieur ahhhh….) A section on recipes suitable to make or prepare ahead for guest entertaining would be great, especially those suitable for entrees or buffet style dinner parties. When Covid is behind us we are going to be doing LOTS of eating and drinking with friends 🙂 🙂

Nagi, your website is seriously my go to site when I’m looking for a recipe and I’m not even kidding! everything I have ever cooked of yours has turned out amazing. Just off the top of my head mushroom pasta, pesto pasta, beef cheek Ragu pasta 3 ways (can you tell I’m married to an Italian?) 🤣 your Carnitas are to die for and I actually made the no bake mango cheesecake today for my daughter’s baby shower. I will buy your book regardless of what’s in it because I know it will be awesome, besides I print off all your recipes that I use and put them in my folder 😜 thanks for being such an amazing cook and inspiration, I wish you well with this new venture, blessings, Heather ❤️

I have tried to make good quality bread . But the bread deflation in middle there can be a number of reasons 1 too much yeast 2 poor quality flour,3yeast bad, not good water to flour mix . I have used bread machine poor results again . I was using instant yeast that was part of problem. Next bread doesn’t rise in kitchen unknown why . So including a bread repice and trouble shooting guide a comprehensive guide
