Request a recipe!

I spend an inordinate amount of time deciding which recipes to share.

My biggest problem is that there are so many recipes I want to share, things that get me doing the jiggy because it’s so good but then before I dash off to film and photograph the recipe, I pause and think – will my readers get excited about this too?? Will they really go and try this?

It’s always interesting when I publish a new recipe to see how many people read it. After 4 years of blogging (that’s middle aged in Internet terms!), you’d think I’d be able to get it right 100% of the time.

And mostly, I can.

I knew you’d love the Sticky Honey Mustard Drumsticks and go bonkers over the Pad Thai and Tikka Masala. I didn’t expect you’d be clamouring for the Quiche Lorraine or Avocado Dip, and I guessed right. 🙂

But other times, you surprise me! I did not expect such an amazing response to the Homemade Pastrami from last Friday, nor that the Garlic Butter Kale Rice would become such a firm favourite!

Recent Reader Favourite Recipes - Tikka Masala, Pastrami, Pad Thai

And after all those hours of contemplating what recipes I think you want, it finally dawned on me: Why don’t I ask you??

DUH!

And so, here we are. Finally – because it took me so ridiculously to arrive at this point – FINALLY I’m asking you:

WHAT RECIPES DO YOU WANT ME TO SHARE?

Drop your requests in the comments section below!

Be as specific or as general as you want. I just ask 2 simple things:

  1. Please do a quick little Search to see if I’ve already shared it!

  2. No banana anything! It’s the only normal thing I can’t stand. Awful, smelly, slimy things that they are!?

{UPDATE: Scroll to the top for a list of requested recipes that I have published!}

I obviously can’t promise that I’ll share every recipe requested, being that I’m just one person who does need to sleep on occasion! But I’ll certainly share the most requested ones, and I’ll regularly pop back here when I’m planning my recipe calendar.

    Hello Nagi,

I looooove your website & each recipe I’ve tried has become firm favorites in my house. I could rhapsodise on your meatball but I digress. As a newbie cook, it’s kinda gratifying to cook something well that isn’t instant noodles *sheepish smile*

I’m a big fan of the cooking manga ‘Oishinbo’ and one of the dishes mentioned that’s always intrigued me is something called Yuba Gratin. Also, could you give me some tips on how to incorporate tofu lees into the hambagu recipe please? Hope you’ll look kindly on my recipe/tip requests & thanks again!

Much love from a grateful newbie cook!

Hi Nicole, this is Yumiko, Nagi’s mother here. I know the manga, Oishinbo.
I recently received a query in my blog RecipeTin Japan about yuba so I bought some dried yuba sheets only a couple of days ago. I have few yuba dishes I would like to post in future. I will certainly add your request to the list.

Many years ago I ate at a restaurant in Canada called Bhima’s Warung. I had a Mi Xao with shrimp, beef tenderloin and veggies, and a rich sauce (oyster sauce base I think). It was far and away the best restaurant meal I’ve ever had! I’ve tried to imitate it at home, but never come close! I’d love to see your take on a high-end Mi Xao!

The key to the dish is having a bed of crispy noodles, and then the noodles soak up the sauce! It really is a fantastic dish! It’s a Vietnamese dish, so hopefully you can sample a dish at a restaurant nearby! Thanks! Marty

    Greetings Nagi:
My computer has been naughty…delaying my response here. However, all seems to be fine now.
I would love to try an authentic recipe for Chow Mein, Chop Suey, and Sweet and Sour recipes.
Whenever I order in a restaurant, I always try those dishes. To make then at home is not the same, not very tasty…sort of bland.
I am excited to make your Carrot soup, carrots are so healthy, I eat a lot of carrots, as well as I make all kinds of soup.
I’ve made your Chinese Noodle soup twice, was so yummy! I was never interested in Noodle soup, to even try it, Your recipe, your details and picture of the soup tempted my taste buds…Thanks,
and thanks for All That You Do Here.

Hi, Nagi! Today I had a sandwich at one of our local sandwich shops here in Waco, Texas. It was a steak sandwich with chimichuri sauce. It was the first time I had chimichuri anything, and I totally enjoyed it! Any chance you could teach me how to make an EASY chimichuri sauce? Please?

I used to like cooking for other people but now it’s just me and her. But whatever I make she always gets half. So how about some Dozer approved recipes?

Hi Maddy! It’s called the Breville Fast-Slow Cooker and it’s our Instant Pot, it’s been here for years and years! You can sear in it, it has a slow and pressure cooker. The only thing it doesn’t have is one touch buttons for rice / yoghurt things like that, but those are quite restrictive anyway so you aren’t missing out 🙂 It is the BEST kitchen investment I made after my knives. I love it! N x

    Hi Nagi
I love your recipes and every one that I have tried turns out beautifully. The one last night was Stewed Hamburg Steak (Nikomi Hamburg). Wow! packed with flavour. I served it gracing the top of Mashed Sweet Potato.

I would like to request a recipe if possible. My daughter has requested ‘Beef in Black Bean Sauce’ for her birthday dinner. I guess she is expecting the dish from her local takeaway (yuk). I know if you have one it will taste amazing. But if you do not thank you anyway.

    Hi Nagi,

Thanks for the great opportunity to request a recipe! So, I would be very happy if you could post a recipe for NO CHURN ICE CREAM, but besides the recipe using mangos, which you already gave. (Good mangos are very hard to find where we live.) Could you recommend any other fruit for this NO CHUR ice cream? For example, we really like strawberry and banana ice cream.

    Thanks a lot!

I LOVE what seemed to me GROUNDBREAKING- your baked wing recipe. I am very particular about my wings being extra crispy and delicious. I’ve never had wings prepared the way that you suggested and am amazed how simple (and CLEAN) the recipe is. I would love some additional “hacks” in the kitchen that produce better dishes!
